Another new start

I can't seem to stop myself starting something new. Anyway this is what I started last night.

I bought this pattern earlier this year.

Then I was persuaded to buy the scissors to go with the pattern. Now, when I say I was persuaded - it didn't take much. I didn't have any Ginghers and I was offered these at half price - so that persuaded me to go for it. As you can see they go nicely together, after all the thread was a limited edition to go with the scissors, wasn't it.

I was disappointed to find the scissors and the thread looked like this -

as you can see - not really anything in common, the thread is mainly blue and pink, and I think you'd struggle to be able to do two cross stitches in the yellow. When Sally came the other week I showed her and she laughed, they are just nothing like.

So, on to my new start, this is my version. I have chosen 32ct Belfast in Ray of Light, and I'm using an Anchor thread which I found in my stash, and I think it goes brilliantly with the scissors. What do you think?
I must say it makes me really want some Fruit Salad sweets, as that is what the colour changes in this thread remind me of.

Hope you're all having a great weekend, as we have had lots of sun, and I'm just going outside to sit in it.

I love the pattern and the color you chose to make the scissors go with them better.

You are right, the thread that came with the pattern doesn't have anything in common with the scissors. But I just love the color combination that you came up with. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Good for you. That was so disappointing that the scissors were really nothing like the thread. Can't wait to see it all finished together with the very lovely scissors. Love Patti xxx

Love your new start. The colour you've picked goes much better with the scissors than the one from the kit

You made a wise decision to change the floss colors, then found the perfect floss to match the Ginghers!! Awesome! :)

I am so glad I found your blog! I have been thinking about buying this design with the scissors and am so glad I read this before I took the plunge. Do you mind if I ask what number Anchor thread you used?

I Love love the colour you chose ! I am so sorry that your Bianca thread didn't have the yellow. I'm Janie's model stitcher and have stitched this myself a couple of times and my thread looked nothing like yours. That's the problem with hand dyes, the dye lots can change so much. Mine had yellow, pink, orange blue and green. Good on you for the Anchor colour thread, I think it's perfect, bright and cheery !
